What's New in 2013
SOUTHWEST AIRLINES COMING
Southwest starts flights in and out of Branson on March 9, with daily nonstop
service to Dallas Love Field, Houston Hobby and Chicago Midway, and
Saturday-only service to Orlando. Southwest will assume all flying from AirTran
Airways, its wholly-owned subsidiary, with AirTran’s operations at Branson fully
converting to Southwest Airlines.
OUTLAW RUN NEW AT SILVER DOLLAR CITY
Thrill ride enthusiasts around the world will mark a first-of-its-kind ride
debut at Branson’s Silver Dollar City in Spring 2013 when the 1880s-style theme
park makes history with the opening of Outlaw Run, the world’s most daring wood
OSMONDS, LENNONS, O’DONNELL AND MORE AT MOON RIVER THEATRE
In the tradition of “Mr. Christmas” himself, in November and December the Andy
Williams Christmas Show stars entertainment legends The Osmonds and The Lennon
Sisters, joining a cast of dancers, singers and the Moon River Orchestra in a
spectacular celebration of traditional family Christmas; Irish singing sensation
Daniel O’Donnell headlines his own 2 pm matinee production during Ozark Mountain
Christmas. Cat’s Pajamas and Oh, What a Night! open in the Spring, while Summer
features Liverpool Legends celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles’
first appearance on American television. September and October host Moon River
Weekends with national guest stars (TBA).
THE CHILDREN OF TITANIC
The world’s largest museum attraction will bring Titanic’s littlest heroes out
of the shadows and into the hearts of guests when they find new stories
dedicated exclusively to the Children of Titanic. Each child who boarded Titanic
had a dream and a story to tell.
JOEY I.L.O. TO HEADLINE "PURE COMEDY" AT JIM STAFFORD THEATRE
Minneapolis comedian Joey I.L.O. will appear at the Jim Stafford Theatre from
March 19 through December 14 at the Jim Stafford Theatre. He was named the
regional winner of the Sierra Mist Search for the Next Great Comic and appeared
on NBC's “Last Comic Standing” Season 5. The new show, Pure Comedy, will be
"Stand up that makes you fall down laughing." Joey I.L.O.’s clean comedy
reflects faith and family and he’ll bring to the stage hysterical sets on
marriage, life with a baby and being raised by clowns (both of Joey’s parents
were clowns). Joey will also be bringing in other top comedians when they are in
the area for special guest appearances.
The real Greg Brady is in a new show at RFD-TV Theatre. Totally 70’s Music
Explosion stars Barry Williams (of TV’s Brady Bunch) as he takes audiences on a
nostalgic trip back in time with talented singers and dancers, a live band and a
state-of-the-art multimedia presentation.
PARAKEET PETE’S WATERFRONT ZIPLINE
Branson Zipline Canopy Tours presents Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline! Guests
will launch from Branson Landing and zip across Lake Taneycomo up to an
observation platform on Mount Branson. From there guests will be able to take
time to look over Branson and then zip back across Lake Taneycomo to Branson
Landing. This will be the most thrilling aerial view of Branson you’ll ever
experience! Your zip includes a video of your adventure.
ADVENTURES OF MARCO POLO
In 1271 A.D. the Italian explorer, Marco Polo, made his legendary trip to the
ancient eastern mysterious nation of China. The Adventures of Marco Polo is an
epic tale of exploration and wonder, love and loss with a cast of over 50
performers, magnificent sets and costuming. Beginning in July at the White House
DANCING QUEEN: ABBA’S GREATEST HITS
Touring since 2009 in places such as Monaco, Las Vegas, Reno and Niagara,
Dancing Queen is now proud to call Branson its home. ABBA fans won’t want to
miss this new show at the King’s Castle Theatre. The show pays tribute to the
group in a musical extravaganza featuring singers and dancers performing those
groovy 70’s tunes!
THE OAK RIDGE BOYS
The Oak Ridge Boys will perform in Branson in their theater on the following
dates in 2013: April 23- 25, Sept 17-19, Oct 8-10, 15-17, 22-24, Nov 5-7, 12-14,
19-21. The theatre will host national touring acts: Charlie Daniels, Bill Cosby,
George Jones, Three Dog Night and Johnny Mathis.
“Jerusalem” performed by Dudu Fisher returns to the Caravelle Theatre for his
first full season in Branson. He is known throughout the world for his stirring
performance as Jean Valjean in the hit show “Les Miserables.” In addition to a
long run in his home country of Israel, he starred in “Les Miz” on Broadway and
in London’s West End.
THE TRACK FAMILY FUN PARKS
The Track Family Fun Parks replaced the Track 4 building which was destroyed by
the Leap Year tornado. It will house a new ticketing area and all-new, state-of
the- art arcade. The Track also built an addition onto Pizza World that will
serve as both overflow seating and as meeting space for Track birthday parties
and other group events. Gator Golf mini-golf course is getting a facelift.
The Track 5 facility will house four stations of batting cages that are each
equipped to throw four different speeds for both baseball and softball.
BRANSON AREA GOLF
National recognition: Branson Creek named top public course in Missouri and
Payne Stewart is number three, according to Golf Digest. Also recognized were
Murder Rock and LedgeStone.
The world’s first motorized zipline, Sky Surfer, takes you from tower to tower
at speeds up to 30 mph. You ride virtually unencumbered at heights nearing 50’
in the air. Stand up and take the 4-minute ride like surfing; sit down and have
the most relaxing “Magic Carpet” ride; or lie on your belly to fly like a Super
PROMISED LAND ZOO
New on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway is the Promised Land Zoo, a sister
facility to the 120-acre Promised Land Zoo in Eagle Rock, which is about 30
minutes west of Branson. The new educational, interactive attraction will
feature small and baby exotic animals.
